Hays are proud to be representing a leading building services consultancy that is looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Yorkshire–based team. The business delivers engineering and sustainability solutions across a wide range of sectors and offers excellent opportunities for professional development.
Your new role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work within a multidisciplinary team delivering projects from feasibility through to detailed design.
Responsibilities Will Include
- Producing mechanical building services designs.
- Undertaking surveys, calculations and technical assessments.
- Coordinating with other design disciplines.
- Attending client and project meetings.
- Reviewing designs and technical submissions.
- Mentoring junior engineers.
- Ensuring compliance with current regulations and standards.

What You'll Need To Succeed
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
- Experience in mechanical building services design.
- Proficiency with industry–standard design software.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Chartership would be advantageous.
