Hays are proud to be representing a leading building services consultancy that is looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Yorkshire–based team. The business delivers engineering and sustainability solutions across a wide range of sectors and offers excellent opportunities for professional development.

Your new role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work within a multidisciplinary team delivering projects from feasibility through to detailed design.

Responsibilities Will Include

  • Producing mechanical building services designs.
  • Undertaking surveys, calculations and technical assessments.
  • Coordinating with other design disciplines.
  • Attending client and project meetings.
  • Reviewing designs and technical submissions.
  • Mentoring junior engineers.
  • Ensuring compliance with current regulations and standards.

What You'll Need To Succeed

  • Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in mechanical building services design.
  • Proficiency with industry–standard design software.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Chartership would be advantageous.
