Technique Recruitment Solutions Ltd are a specialist Engineering & manufacturing Recruitment company based in Norwich. Our client have a permanent position for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a specialised lifting equipment company.

The Role

Experienced mechanical design engineer required to develop customised products for a small, friendly company dealing in an international marketplace.

  • Creation of overall design and assembly drawings to define customer requirements
  • Generation of detailed manufacturing drawings for internal or external production
  • Creation of BOM for special products and procurement as required
  • Customer liaison for projects
  • Liaison with Workshop Supervisor to ensure projects are fulfilled on time
  • Continuous Improvement of existing products

Important Skills

  • A sound background in mechanical engineering, with good knowledge of mechanisms, fabricated assemblies and sheet metalwork
  • The ability to quickly and effectively design customised variants from a standard product range
  • The ability to prioritise workload and deal efficiently with multiple projects

Other Skills

  • Excellent working knowledge of Solidworks 3D CAD or similar
  • Able to produce effective, detailed manufacturing information on time
  • Working knowledge of Machinery Standards and relevant legislation
  • Able to work as part of a small team
  • Excellent communication skills
