Are you a talented Mechanical Design Engineer looking to join a forward-thinking building services consultancy? Our client, based in Plymouth, is seeking an experienced and motivated engineer to play a key role in delivering innovative mechanical design solutions across a diverse range of projects.

The Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality mechanical building services designs from concept through to completion. You'll work closely with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, sustainable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical building services systems including HVAC, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, domestic water services, and public health systems.
- Produce calculations, specifications, reports, and technical drawings.
- Prepare designs using industry-standard software.
- Attend design meetings and liaise with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Ensure designs comply with current regulations and industry standards.
- Support projects through all RIBA stages from concept to completion.
- Contribute to innovative and sustainable engineering solutions.
About You
- Degree or HNC/HND qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy environment.
- Proficient in industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and IES or similar.
- Good understanding of current Building Regulations and relevant British Standards.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Working towards or already Chartered (desirable but not essential).
