Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role based in Banbury. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components for eVTOL aircraft, from concept through to production. Daily responsibilities include:

  • Creating and reviewing detailed 3D models and drawings
  • Performing mechanical analyses
  • Ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements

The role involves collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including:

  • Aerodynamics
  • Structures
  • Electrical
  • Manufacturing

The engineer will also support:

  • Prototype build
  • Testing
  • Design validation
  • Continuous improvement of existing designs

Qualifications

  • Strong Design Engineering and Mechanical Engineering skills, with proven experience in complex mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in Machine Design for rotating, structural, and load-bearing components.
  • Experience in Product Design, including concept development, design for manufacturability, and lifecycle considerations.
  • Advanced skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, or high-performance mechanical systems is highly beneficial.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work on-site in Banbury, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and manage multiple design tasks independently.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail and quality.
