This is an opportunity to register your interest in future Mechanical Design Engineer roles based in London. What You Would Do

Typical responsibilities could include:

  • Developing and delivering mechanical designs that meet functional and regulatory requirements
  • Creating detailed design documentation, technical drawings and specifications using industry-standard tools
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, controls specialists and project managers
  • Conducting design analysis, tolerance studies and design reviews to ensure quality and manufacturability
  • Supporting component and material selection based on performance, cost and sustainability criteria
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of design processes and engineering standards
  • Liaising with suppliers, manufacturing and quality teams to ensure design intent is maintained through production

What You Could Bring

Most roles of this type require the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • Proven experience in mechanical design, with demonstrated proficiency in CAD tools and design software
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, materials science and manufacturing processes
  • Experience working to ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management standards
  • Familiarity with design documentation standards, GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) and technical drawing conventions
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively across engineering and non-engineering teams
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with FEA (finite element analysis) or simulation tools
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements or design standards relevant to your industry sector
  • Project management experience or exposure
  • Experience in agile or collaborative design environments
