The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Design Manager, you will join an established team of dedicated design specialists currently undergoing an exciting phase of growth and investment.

This is an end-to-end, project-led mechanical design role where you will take ownership of new product development, selecting materials for prototyping, managing internal stages, leading tolerance analysis, and ensuring seamless handoff to manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Concept-to-Production Design: Lead mechanical design projects for fluid control products, piping systems, and plastic components from initial sketch to full-scale manufacture.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Hands-on selection of materials for prototype builds, applying rigorous testing procedures and Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DFMA) principles.
  • Internal Project Management: Manage product development timelines, track project milestones, and present progress/design reviews to departmental leads.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with in-house tooling, quality, and manufacturing specialists to resolve engineering challenges quickly and thoroughly.

Must-Haves

What We Are Looking For

  • Fluid / Water Design Experience: Proven background designing products that involve water flow, fluid dynamics, or flow control systems (e.g., valves, pumps, piping, sanitaryware, or appliances).
  • Strong Mechanical Fundamentals: Proficient with 3D CAD, tolerance analysis, and solving complex engineering problems under tight deadlines.

Desirable / Major Plus Points

  • CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) Experience: Hands-on experience with CFD software is a huge advantage.
  • Injection Moulding Appreciation: Solid understanding of design for plastic injection moulding (training/upskilling provided for candidates with strong fluid experience).
  • FEA & Electronics: Exposure to Finite Element Analysis or basic mechatronics/electronics integration.
