Role Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team on a full-time onsite basis. This is a 3-month contract to cover a resource gap between team members leaving and new starters joining. The engineer will work across multiple active projects, supporting new design work, maintaining existing designs, and ensuring smooth production handover.
Key Responsibilities
- SolidWorks Modelling - Create and update 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
- Enclosure Design - Design and modify enclosures, housings, and mechanical structures.
- Machined Parts - Produce designs for machined and aluminium components, ensuring manufacturability.
- Design Maintenance - Update legacy designs, resolve issues, and support continuous improvement.
- Production Support - Work closely with production teams to resolve build issues and ensure smooth manufacturing.
- Supplier Collaboration - Liaise with external suppliers and fabricators to clarify requirements and manage changes.
- Manual PLM Process - Support manual PLM/documentation processes (no formal PLM system in place).

- Strong SolidWorks capability (modelling, assemblies, detailed drawings).
- Experience designing enclosures, machined parts, and aluminium components.
- Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Comfortable supporting production, resolving mechanical issues, and working with suppliers.
- Good understanding of manufacturing methods (machining, fabrication, assembly).
- Able to work full-time onsite.
