We're recruiting on behalf of an established engineering business that designs and manufactures specialist electro-mechanical products for industrial applications. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with strong SolidWorks expertise to join a collaborative engineering team and contribute to the development of innovative products from concept through to manufacture.

The Role
You'll be responsible for producing high-quality 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, assemblies and Bills of Materials (BOMs), working closely with Engineering, Production, Purchasing and Sales teams to deliver robust, cost-effective design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
- Develop assemblies, sub-assemblies and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Design sheet metal and electro-mechanical products for manufacture
- Support product testing, validation and continuous improvement activities
- Maintain engineering documentation, drawing registers and version control
- Work with suppliers and internal teams to support product and cost improvements
- Ensure designs comply with relevant quality and industry standards

About You
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years' industrial design experience
- Strong SolidWorks experience (essential)
- Experience producing 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and mechanical assemblies
- Experience creating and managing BOMs
Desirable:
- AutoCAD, EPLAN or ERP system experience
- Electro-mechanical product design experience
- Knowledge of EMC requirements and AC/DC systems
- Experience within switchgear, control panels, power distribution or related industries
