Mechanical Design Engineer

What You Will Do:
- Drive R&D projects from initial requirements through design, testing support, implementation, and production handover as a Mechanical Design Engineer
- Create and update 3D models and accurate 2D technical manufacturing drawings, ensuring everything is production-ready
- Support design for manufacture by building repeatable, efficient solutions that improve assembly and cost effectiveness
- Maintain production sheet metal fold simulation programmes, create.DXFs for sheet metal punch and laser processes, and support manufacturing problem-solving
- Carry out tolerance analysis to ensure designs suit real-world manufacturing and assembly requirements
- Manage engineering change requests by keeping CAD models, drawings, specifications, and documentation fully aligned

What You Will Bring:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Design or a related engineering discipline
- Strong mechanical design capability, including the ability to interpret and produce engineering drawings and specifications
- Proven understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes, materials, and tolerances
- Experience using 3D CAD packages and producing high-quality 2D technical drawings
- Confidence working across teams, prioritising workload, and delivering to deadlines with excellent communication
