Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services & BIM)
We're partnering with an ambitious organisation operating within complex power, cooling and resilience solutions for business-critical facilities worldwide. Due to continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, they are looking to appoint a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the delivery of technically complex projects from concept through to completion.
The Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join a highly collaborative team delivering innovative engineering solutions across the UK and internationally. You'll play a key role in the design and development of mechanical building services systems, while also supporting BIM modelling and coordination activities throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with design, engineering and project delivery teams, you'll contribute to projects where quality, technical excellence and attention to detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical building services systems including HVAC and pipework installations
- Produce detailed design calculations and technical documentation
- Develop engineering solutions that meet client requirements and project objectives
- Create and maintain mechanical BIM models in line with project standards and workflows
- Coordinate designs with multidisciplinary teams to support clash detection and model integration
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations and best practice
- Maintain model quality, data integrity and version control throughout project delivery
What We're Looking For
- HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in mechanical building services design
- Strong understanding of HVAC and pipework systems
- Ability to prepare detailed engineering calculations
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD and/or BIM software
- Understanding of BIM processes, model coordination and design workflows
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
- Full UK Driving Licence

- Data centre or critical infrastructure projects
- Generator pipework design
- Project delivery and installation oversight
- Mechanical estimating and subcontractor engagement
- BIM coordination and clash detection experience
