Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Hybrid/London
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 + benefits & bonuses

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer with 4-5 years of industry experience to join a well-established, Multidisciplinary Consultancy. The selected candidate will have the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis from our client's London Office. You will work on technically challenging and high-profile Automotive (Production Facilities), Retail, Defence, complex Commercial Fit-Outs, and Higher Education projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HVAC design and delivery of mechanical building services systems
  • Develop mechanical design strategies, concepts, and detailed solutions
  • Undertake and oversee thermal, comfort, and energy analysis of buildings and spaces
  • Prepare models, drawings, specifications, and reports
  • Contribute to design reviews, risk assessments, and technical approvals
  • Support sustainability and low-carbon design approaches across projects

Key Requirements:

  • 4-5 years of previous experience in the building services industry
  • Proven experience working on projects through concept, detailed design, and delivery stages
  • Strong experience working on Commercial projects.
  • Demonstrable experience working within multidisciplinary design teams
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit Software is essential
  • Strong understanding of UK building regulations and design standards
  • Knowledge of sustainable and low-carbon design principles
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • Proactive problem-solver with a delivery-focused mindset
