About the Company

We are working with a Smart Manufacturing business providing cutting-edge automation solutions across aerospace, medical devices, automotive, and electronic domains.

The Role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an experienced team. You will design everything from small retrofit camera assemblies to large-scale industrial automation machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • 3D Design: Create mechanical models, detailed drawings, and schematics in SolidWorks under the Design Lead.
  • Pneumatics: Produce full pneumatic system concepts, component specifications, and schematics.
  • Visualisation: Produce 3D renders of concepts and machines for sales/marketing.
  • System Integration: Specify automation components and design to international engineering standards.
  • Hands-on Delivery: Collaborate with Applications Engineering to deliver projects on time, assisting with hands-on system builds as required.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • 3+ years designing industrial automation or special-purpose machinery.
  • 3+ years experience with 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks).
  • Degree-educated (2:1 or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong logical problem-solving abilities and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a team-first mindset.

Desirable:

  • Integration experience with machine vision technologies.
  • Rendering software skills (Blender, SolidWorks Visualize) or 3D printing experience.
  • Full, clean UK Driving Licence.
