Position: Contract Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Castle Donington – Hybrid/Flexible
Contract: Outside IR35
Type: Full-Time
The Role
This is an outside IR35 contract assignment working on a project involving designing a range of turbomachinery related components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using Siemens NX.
- Generate engineering drawings.
- Perform engineering design calculations, e.g., Perform tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Preparation of engineering design reports.
- Engage with suppliers and lead design for manufacturing activities.
- Ensure designs meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Required qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Experience designing gas turbines is essential.
- Experience using BS8888 and/or ASME Y14.5.
- Proficiency in NX software is essential.
- Strong skills in mechanical calculations and GD&T are essential.
- Experience using Teamcenter, or similar PLM systems.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work in a small team as a self-starter.
