As they continue to grow, they are looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team.

Your new role

Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical building services systems for a variety of construction projects. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing detailed mechanical designs and calculations for HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, public health and domestic water systems.
  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of mechanical services.
  • Conducting site visits and surveys to ensure compliance with design specifications and project requirements.
  • Utilising industry–standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit and design calculation packages to produce accurate and efficient designs.
  • Providing technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from concept design through to completion.
  • Typically managing 3 to 5 projects per year, ensuring each scheme is delivered to the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Project types include care homes, hotels, warehouses, and refurbishment schemes.

What You'll Need To Succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or relevant industry experience.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design within the building services sector.
  • Experience designing HVAC, public health, heating and ventilation systems.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, IES, Hevacomp, or similar.
  • A strong understanding of relevant UK building regulations, standards, and industry best practice.
  • Excellent problem–solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
