Role: Mechanical Design Engineer - Product Development (Remote)
Location: Remote (Work from Anywhere)
Job Type: Contract
Payout: $66 - $130/hour

Role Overview:

We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a Mechanical Design / CAD Expert to work on a contract basis. The role involves creating and refining mechanical designs, producing detailed CAD drawings, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate with engineers and product teams to develop functional prototypes and optimize designs for manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software, adhering to project specifications and engineering standards.
  • Generate 2D and 3D models, technical drawings, and documentation for manufacturing and production processes.
  • Conduct design reviews and simulations to validate performance, durability, and feasibility of proposed solutions.
  • Modify existing designs based on feedback from stakeholders to improve functionality, cost efficiency, or manufacturability.
  • Ensure all designs meet regulatory, safety, and quality requirements through rigorous validation and testing.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Fusion 360 for mechanical design and drafting.
  • Experience with 3D modeling, parametric design, and assembly modeling in a professional engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and industry-standard drafting practices.
  • Familiarity with material selection, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability (DFM) principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret engineering requirements and translate them into practical designs.
