Role Overview:
- Design and develop new mechanical products from concept through to production
- Produce accurate engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation
- Improve existing products to enhance manufacturability, efficiency, and cost effectiveness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of new product development projects
- Apply engineering best practice throughout the design and manufacturing process
- Support projects to ensure deadlines and quality standards are consistently achieved

Responsibilities:
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software
- Develop production-ready designs with a strong focus on design for manufacture
- Work alongside production engineering to optimise existing product designs
- Recommend suitable manufacturing methods for both in-house and outsourced production
- Carry out Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and ensure identified actions are completed
- Perform tolerance analysis to ensure product functionality and ease of manufacture
- Liaise with Development, Production Engineering, and Purchasing teams throughout the product development process
- Maintain accurate project documentation and progress updates
- Ensure all work is completed in line with company quality standards and ISO9001:2015 procedures
