About the Role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a key client of ours in Bedford. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience taking designs from concept to manufacture using Solidworks.

Key Requirements

  • Experience using CAD software to produce both 2D drawings and 3D models using Solidworks and AutoCAD
  • This would ideally suit a candidate with experience designing metal fabricated products, machinery, material handling, mechanical systems or similar
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical or Design Engineering
  • The Mechanical Design Engineer will need to have good problem solving skills and ability to work autonomously
  • Must have strong communication skills to collaborate with suppliers, customers and other departments

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the confidence to collaborate with colleagues, clients, and suppliers as well as be flexible to attend site surveys.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be taking bespoke materials handling equipment from concept to completion including prototyping and liaising with the manufacturing team to ensure manufacturability.

Additional Information

This role does offer Hybrid working after an initial settling in period.
