Up to £60,000: Dependant on experience.
Our client is a well-established engineering solutions company that supplies bespoke equipment and machinery for a variety of industry sectors. As a Mechanical Design Manager, your focus will be managing the design function of the company, manage design projects from initial concept through to delivery, and create detailed designs for custom machinery.
Mechanical Design Manager Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Mechanical Design Team
- Create detailed designs and supporting documentation for special purpose machinery.
- Manage design projects from initial concept through to delivery.
- Ensure that the mechanical designs meet the customers' technical specifications.
- Lead continuous improvement activities across the department.
- Set clear KPIs for the Mechanical Design Team.

Mechanical Design Manager Requirements
- Proven experience leading or managing a Mechanical Design team, including supporting team development, performance reviews, and setting objectives.
- Strong mechanical design experience, ideally within automation, special-purpose machinery, robotics, or a similar engineering environment.
- Experience delivering engineering projects from concept through to manufacture, assembly, and commissioning, with a good understanding of the full project lifecycle.
- Strong working knowledge of 3D CAD and engineering design practices, including drawings, BOMs, design reviews, and engineering standards.
- Fully fluent and competent IT skills.
