Mechanical Designer
Abacus Lighting are recruiting for a Mechanical Designer to work in our Engineering and Design office. The design work will be to support our manufacturing facility for steel lighting masts and to assist the sales team prepare customer quotations. The designs will be updating previous designs to fit customer requirements and working on new bespoke projects.

The role will suit someone with the following:-
- Proficient in Autodesk Inventor (3D CAD modelling), with the ability to produce high-quality engineering models, technical drawings, and associated design documentation.
- Experience in preparing structural calculations, technical reports, engineering drawings, and supporting documentation across a range of engineering projects.
- A background in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering design, ideally supported by a relevant degree qualification.
- Experience assisting with site inspections, condition surveys, and construction monitoring, including the assessment of structural condition and compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams, contributing to technical problem-solving and the successful delivery of projects to programme and client deadlines.
- Strong communication, organisational, and technical skills, coupled with a proactive approach and a willingness to learn, develop, and progress professionally.
- A practical and adaptable mindset, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic engineering environment.
- Our ERP system is powered by SAP, a working knowledge would be advantageous but training can be given.

The role is based at our Sutton-in-Ashfield site with working hours of 37.50 per week, Monday to Friday.
