What We Are Looking For
While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated engineer to perform reactive and preventative maintenance to ensure machinery operates at peak efficiency without compromising quality. Collaborate closely with site Technicians and Line Leaders to ensure all equipment remains fully operational and is maintained in line with company standards.
Working hours 6:00pm to 06:00am on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern
The Position
- Perform planned preventative maintenance and breakdowns across the site to minimise downtime.
- Recommend solutions aligned with the engineering strategy to reduce downtime and identify areas for improvement in machine performance.
- Complete maintenance, servicing, and general duties, escalating issues to the Engineering Lead/Supervisor where required.
- Work closely with the Engineering Supervisors to minimise equipment and tool purchases while ensuring all necessary tasks are effectively completed.
- Work closely with the Engineering Supervisors, Engineering Manager, Grader Manager, Line Leaders, machinery suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure maximum efficiency is achieved.
- Ensure effective and timely resolution of breakdowns and issues, with minimal impact on production.
- Supervise external contractors working onsite, ensuring policies and procedures are communicated and always followed.
- Complete engineering paperwork accurately and competently to support compliance and audit readiness.
- Work closely with Engineering Team Leaders/Supervisors to minimise equipment and tool purchases while ensuring required tasks are completed effectively.
- To book out and restock when required, parts held in the site engineering stores.
- Maintain detailed records of all engineering tasks to support audit compliance.

The Perfect Candidate Should Have
- Experienced engineer with a mechanical and electrical engineering qualification.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify the root causes and resolve issues.
- Proven organisational skills.
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.
- Preferable industry knowledge: experience working in food manufacture industry.
- Self-driven, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
- Flexible working approach and ability to adapt to change.
