Role Overview

An experienced Mechanical Design Engineer is required on a 3-month contract basis to provide additional engineering capacity during a critical project phase. The role will support the completion of key design activities, engineering documentation, prototype build preparation, and hands-on build support.

Working alongside a multidisciplinary engineering team, the successful candidate will help ensure project milestones are achieved, prototype activities are delivered to schedule, and engineering resources remain focused across multiple ongoing programmes.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience in mechanical design engineering within a complex engineering environment.
  • Strong background in product development, prototyping, and engineering design.
  • Experience supporting prototype builds, testing, evaluation, and design iterations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities within demanding project schedules.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical engineering approach.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and project teams.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving project requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
