The Opportunity

An established and growing MEP Building Services Consultancy in Birmingham is looking to appoint a Mechanical Engineer to join its dynamic design team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer who is looking to develop their career across a diverse range of projects including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and specification of mechanical building services systems including:
    • HVAC
    • Heating systems
    • Ventilation
    • Domestic water services
    • Public health systems
  • Produce calculations, technical reports, and design drawings.
  • Work closely with electrical engineers and wider project teams.
  • Attend client meetings and site visits where required.
  • Support projects from concept through to completion.
  • Ensure designs comply with current regulations and industry standards.
  • Contribute to delivering projects on time and within budget.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Experience working within an MEP Consultancy or Building Services environment.
  • Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and relevant British Standards.
  • Experience using industry software such as Hevacomp, IES, Revit, AutoCAD, or similar.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Working towards Chartership (desirable but not essential).
