Mechanical Fitter

Employment Type: Permanent
Hours: 40 per week
Minimum 3 years' relevant mechanical or engineering experience

The Role:

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for installing, fitting, and testing a range of mechanical systems throughout the yacht-build process. You’ll work as part of an experienced production team, ensuring all installations are completed safely, accurately, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engine installation, installing and fitting engines and mechanical equipment.
  • Hydraulic, fuel, and cooling systems, installing hydraulic, fuel, cooling, and water systems.
  • Mechanical assembly fitting, alignment, and general mechanical build.
  • Engineering drawings, reading and working from technical drawings.
  • Testing and commissioning, fault-finding, and system checks.
  • Installing mechanical controls and associated components.
  • Working to quality, production, and health and safety standards.
  • Working in confined spaces when required.
  • Collaborating with other trades to meet production schedules.

  • Background in mechanical fitting, marine, automotive, plant, or similar.
  • Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, cooling, or engine systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong practical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to quality and safety.
  • Own basic engineering hand tools.
