Brief
Resident Mechanical Engineer needed for a large, well-known Facilities Management organisation based in Macclesfield who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Mechanical Engineer that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on mechanical assets in the Facilities Management industry.
The successful candidate would need to have a relevant qualification- i.e. NVQ Level 2 in Mechanical Engineering or Plumbing etc. and have a keen interest in Mechanical Engineering. If you have commercial experience in electrics, including having your 18th Edition that would be a plus!

What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Mechanical Engineer will include:
- Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the sites are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made.
- Ensure that suitable consumables are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works.
- Ensure that all relevant paperwork/CAFM is completed regarding planned and reactive activities and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator.
- Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices.
- To develop a good working relationship with all members of staff, subcontractors and the client representatives.
- Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To always include the wearing of uniform and PPE.
- To undertake lone working when and where required, subject to passing satisfactory training.
- Ensure assigned tasks are actioned and completed as appropriate.
- Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI's/SLA's.
- Ensure CAFM system, e.g. Planon, is kept up to date and that PPM and reactive tickets are closed out with accurate data captured.
- To carry out any other task as directed by the account management team.

What experience you need to be the successful Mechanical Engineer:
- Recognised Mechanical qualifications essential.
- 18th Edition wiring Regs. (Desirable)
- City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395 (Desirable)
- Obtain AP status within 3 months
- First Aid at Work.
- Experienced fault-finding skills in BMS, LTHW systems, CLTHW systems, pumps, motors, HVAC, LV power systems,
- Experience in working with Cooling towers (Desirable)
- IPAF Certificated for 3a & 3b machines (Desirable)
- Experience in fault finding of BMS
- An understanding of the L8 ACOP
- A robust understanding of Health and Safety is required.
- Knowledge of the Permit to Work system & experience issuing PTW (Desirable).
- To maintain effective communication with the customers at site level
- Always ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements
- To carry out any other reasonable tasks that may be required to support the account and the business in general.
- Ensure compliance with contract KPIs and SLAs with the support of the Engineering Supervisor.
