Mechanical Engineer

Our client is an innovative engineering organization delivering high-performance building solutions with a strong focus on energy efficiency and sustainable infrastructure. The Mechanical Engineer will work with an experienced team on projects ranging from advanced building HVAC systems to large-scale energy and decarbonization initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to apply strong mechanical design expertise to projects shaping more efficient and resilient built environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop HVAC System Design solutions for complex commercial and institutional projects, from conceptual design through construction documentation.
  • Design and evaluate District Energy System Design and Hydronic System Design solutions, including central plant and building distribution applications.
  • Perform HVAC Design Calculations, equipment sizing, system evaluations, and technical analyses to support project requirements and design decisions.
  • Contribute to Decarbonization & Electrification Projects by evaluating efficient mechanical system strategies and emerging building energy technologies.
  • Coordinate mechanical designs with project teams and support technical reviews, field investigations, client discussions, and construction-phase activities.

Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience with well-rounded experience in HVAC and hydronic system design.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Experience with Geothermal System Design and other high-efficiency or renewable mechanical system applications.
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD for mechanical design, documentation, and coordination.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC equipment, piping systems, controls, system performance, and applicable mechanical design standards.
  • Ability to develop practical engineering solutions for complex building systems while balancing performance, constructability, and energy efficiency.
  • Strong analytical, technical communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams on complex building or infrastructure projects.
