Mechanical or Electrical Engineer Wanted in Portsmouth

We are seeking either a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to join our client's business in Portsmouth. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer with a strong building services background to work on a diverse portfolio of high-quality projects across multiple sectors.

You will be responsible for producing innovative, compliant, and cost-effective engineering designs from concept through to completion, working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce mechanical or electrical building services designs for a range of projects.
  • Prepare calculations, specifications, reports, and technical drawings.
  • Develop designs from feasibility through to detailed design and construction.
  • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other consultants.
  • Attend client, design, and site meetings as required.
  • Ensure designs comply with current regulations, standards, and industry best practice.
  • Support project delivery to programme and budget.
  • Provide technical guidance and contribute to continuous improvement within the design team.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Mechanical or Electrical Building Services Design.
  • Proven experience delivering projects across several of the following sectors:
    • Commercial
    • Ministry of Defence (MOD)
    • Heritage
    • Healthcare
    • Education
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Proficient in industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant calculation software.
  • Strong knowledge of current Building Regulations, British Standards, and CIBSE guidance.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
