Role Description
This full-time Mechanical Engineer / Installation / Fitter role is based on-site at VAK Conveying Systems Ltd. in Whaley Bridge. The role involves installing, fitting, and commissioning conveying systems, silo equipment, and associated mechanical components at customer facilities. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting technical drawings, assembling mechanical and pneumatic systems, performing routine and reactive maintenance, and ensuring installations meet safety and compliance standards. The position also includes diagnosing mechanical issues, supporting system upgrades, collaborating with engineers and technicians on design improvements, and documenting work carried out. The role requires regular interaction with clients on-site to ensure systems operate reliably and efficiently.

Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering skills with practical experience in industrial installations and mechanical systems.
- Relevant vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Experience with material handling equipment, pneumatic conveying, or silo systems is highly beneficial.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and regulatory requirements in industrial environments.
- Ability to work on-site, use hand and power tools, and carry out physical tasks safely and efficiently.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and customers.
- Full driving license and willingness to travel to customer sites as required as well as working away and the occasional weekend work.
