About the Role

We're looking for a talented and innovative Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle, from initial concepts and research through design, manufacture, installation and final commissioning.

You'll play a key role in designing and developing high-performance dynamometer systems and associated mechanical components, helping to deliver innovative engineering solutions for a wide range of applications.

Whether you're improving existing products or developing new solutions, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to turn ideas into reality.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will:

  • Manage projects through the full product development lifecycle, including design, prototyping, testing, manufacture and implementation.
  • Design mechanical systems and components to meet customer and project requirements.
  • Produce detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Carry out engineering calculations, feasibility studies and performance testing.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Support production and commissioning teams during equipment build and installation.
  • Investigate technical challenges, identify root causes and develop effective engineering solutions.
  • Evaluate product performance, reliability and safety, making design improvements where required.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, operating manuals and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across engineering, production and commissioning to deliver successful projects.
  • Keep up to date with new engineering technologies, methods and industry best practice.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a practical, problem-solving approach.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME or equivalent).
  • Around five years' experience in a mechanical engineering role (applications from candidates with varying levels of experience are welcome).
  • Experience working across the product development lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
  • Experience using 2D and 3D CAD software, ideally SolidWorks (or similar such as AutoCAD).
  • Familiarity with engineering analysis software such as ANSYS, ProMechanica or similar.
  • Experience using engineering and mathematical analysis tools such as MATLAB, Excel or LabVIEW.
  • A strong understanding of engineering fundamentals including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics and materials science.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

Desirable Experience

The following would be an advantage but are not essential:

  • Manufacturing or production engineering experience.
  • Experience working with dynamometer systems or test equipment.
