Role Description
GDM are looking to expand their Mechanical design department at all levels and would consider applications ranging from Intermediate to Principal Mechanical Engineers.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will take a leading role in the design and delivery of building services projects, developing mechanical systems that support efficient, sustainable, and future-ready buildings.
You will be responsible for:
- Developing design strategies
- Carrying out calculations
- Producing and reviewing technical information
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated mechanical solutions
The role will also give you the opportunity to:
- Support project planning
- Contribute to client and site meetings
- Guide technical reporting
- Help ensure high-quality delivery from concept through to completion
This is a full-time position based in London, offering a blend of office, site, and home-based working to support collaboration, project delivery, and flexibility.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, building services engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience in the design and construction of commercial office schemes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of RIBA/BSRIA design stages and construction processes.
- Experience in delivery of all aspects of mechanical design as part of a multidisciplinary design team.
- Experience in sustainable design, including energy efficiency, renewable integration, and low-carbon strategies for data centres and infrastructure.
- Thorough understanding of mechanical technical design for all RIBA stages. Including carrying out calculations, strategy development, project coordination, controls and commissioning, H&S and risk management and technical design delivery.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in mechanical calculation software.
