Mechanical Engineer Mandarin/Cantonese Speaker

Our client is an established UK-based engineering business operating within an international manufacturing and supply network. The company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, improvement and technical support of specialist machinery and equipment.
The successful candidate will be working with UK-based colleagues, customers, suppliers and international manufacturing partners, making fluent Mandarin an essential requirement for the role.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing mechanical machinery and equipment.
- Reviewing, modifying and improving existing mechanical systems.
- Producing and reviewing technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Liaising with international manufacturing partners and suppliers.
- Supporting equipment development, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Identifying mechanical issues and developing practical engineering solutions.
- Communicating with customers, suppliers and internal teams regarding technical requirements.
- Supporting continuous improvement across machinery, equipment and processes.
- Ensuring engineering solutions meet appropriate safety, quality and performance requirements.

Key Skills & Experience:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline is essential.
- Fluent Mandarin/Cantonese is essential.
- Previous experience within a mechanical engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Experience in mechanical design and/or machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with suppliers or international manufacturing partners.
- A practical and hands-on approach to engineering.
- Ability to work effectively across multiple technical requirements and priorities.
