About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Catchtalents. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the mechanical design, development, and project management of complex machinery and production systems. Your expertise will contribute to the successful execution of projects from initial concept through to commissioning and operational handover. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, and project management, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of innovative solutions. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work on state-of-the-art technologies within a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and technical excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, project engineering, and experience with international standards and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive practical experience in mechanical design and machine construction, ideally within the custom machinery or special-purpose equipment sector.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Solid Edge.
  • Familiarity with SAP for parts list management.
  • Experience in project engineering, including planning, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Knowledge of FEM simulations using tools like Ansys or a willingness to develop this expertise.
  • Strong technical understanding, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken, for effective communication within the international environment.

Responsibilities

  • Take mechanical responsibility throughout the entire project lifecycle, from quotation and design to manufacturing, assembly, and commissioning of machinery.
  • Perform mechanical and structural calculations, including stress analysis and safety considerations, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Create detailed technical drawings and documentation using Solid Edge, and generate accurate parts lists with SAP.
  • Design and select mechanical components, perform calculations, and approve technical drawings and parts lists.
  • Manage project engineering activities for assigned projects, including timeline adherence and budget control.
  • Conduct ATEX-related mechanical assessments, risk evaluations, and FMEA analyses to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Utilize FEM simulations to validate mechanical designs and optimize performance.
  • Implement internal and external specifications, adhering to international standards and norms.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal departments and external partners to ensure smooth project execution and problem resolution.
  • Act as a technical interface between product management, sales, and engineering teams for project development.
  • Occasionally travel to suppliers and international customers to support project deployment and technical discussions.
