Do you enjoy working on mechanical designs that make it off the screen and into production?

Are you looking for a role where you can stay hands-on while continuing to build your design expertise?

Interested in joining an engineering team that values practical problem-solving and collaboration?

We are working with an established UK engineering business that is continuing to invest in its in-house product development capability. As part of this growth, they’re looking to add a Mechanical Engineer with a product design focus to their engineering team.

This is a practical, office-based role suited to engineers who enjoy being closely involved in design activity and seeing concepts progress into physical products.

The Role

You’ll be part of a collaborative engineering function, contributing to the design and refinement of mechanical products used in real-world applications.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
