About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Fire Suppression and Production Systems team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of mechanical engineering solutions for fire suppression systems, process equipment, and packaged systems projects.
Key responsibilities include engineering design, calculations, technical documentation, stakeholder engagement, and supporting projects through their full lifecycle. You will take ownership of assigned work packages, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, project specifications, and relevant industry standards.
We welcome applications from engineers with experience in fire suppression, offshore oil & gas, process systems, pressure systems, hydraulic systems, or similar engineering environments.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Demonstrate accountability and professionalism.
- Support and mentor Graduate Engineers and CAD Designers.
- Promote knowledge sharing and engineering best practice.
Project Management
- Take ownership of engineering work packages and deliverables.
- Support project planning, risk management, and change control.
- Monitor progress, proactively communicate issues, and contribute to successful project delivery.
Technical
- Produce and review calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Develop mechanical designs for fire suppression and production systems.
- Carry out equipment sizing, component selection, and design verification.
- Prepare key project documentation, including BOMs, P&IDs, datasheets, reports, FDSs, test procedures, and IOMs.
- Liaise with suppliers and stakeholders to resolve technical queries.
- Support FATs, testing, commissioning, and fabrication activities.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We Look For
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3-7 years' experience in a relevant engineering role.
- Experience delivering projects within regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, standards, and industry codes.
- Experience with packaged equipment, pressure systems, or process systems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Teams.
- Familiarity with DNV, ASME, API, ISO, or equivalent standards.
- Experience acting as the engineering focal point with Classification Societies and Independent Verification Bodies.
- Ability to lead design reviews, address technical comments, and secure design approvals from organisations such as DNV, Lloyd's Register, BV, ABS, and TÜV.
- Knowledge of offshore, marine, and industrial certification requirements.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience with water mist, CAFS, inert gas, or fire suppression systems.
- Experience within offshore oil & gas, energy, marine, or petrochemical sectors.
- Working towards, or holding, IEng or CEng status.
- Experience supporting FATs, commissioning, or offshore/site-based activities.
