Location: Holborn, London

Salary: Up to £47,000 per annum

Working Hours: Monday–Friday, split shifts

Call Out: 1-in-3 weeks | £100 standby payment


We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a professional, established onsite engineering team within a large corporate office in Holborn, London.

Working as part of a 4-man onsite engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the building's mechanical services and facilities are maintained to a high standard, supporting the smooth and safe operation of a prestigious corporate environment.

The Role

You will work Monday to Friday on a rotating split-shift pattern:

  • Early: 7:00am–4:00pm
  • Late: 10:00am–7:00pm
  • Call Out Rota: 1 week in 3
  • Standby Payment: £100 when on call-out standby

The successful candidate will be confident working independently while also contributing effectively as part of a small, professional engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the building.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical faults efficiently and safely.
  • Maintain mechanical plant and equipment to a high standard.
  • Support the operation and maintenance of building services systems.
  • Respond to reactive and emergency maintenance requirements.
  • Complete maintenance records and relevant documentation accurately.
  • Work closely with the wider onsite facilities and engineering teams.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health & safety procedures and site requirements.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota.

About You

We are looking for a mechanically qualified or time-served engineer with experience working within a commercial building or similar environment.

You Should Have

  • Strong mechanical engineering experience within commercial facilities/building services.
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with planned and reactive maintenance.
  • A professional approach and excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
  • A strong commitment to health & safety and customer service.
  • Flexibility to participate in the 1-in-3 call-out rota.
