About The Role
Based in Newhall, this full-time post suits a Mechanical Engineer – Rotating & Vibratory Machinery with proven industrial experience. The successful candidate joins a well-established engineering business, splitting time between the workshop and customer sites across the UK. Duties include inspecting, diagnosing and repairing complex rotating and vibratory equipment, delivering servicing, and providing technical recommendations. Acting as a key contact for clients and fitters, the engineer takes ownership of projects from initial assessment through to completion. Strong fault-finding skills, hands-on mechanical ability and confident communication are essential. The salary ranges from £48,000 to £58,000 per annum, reflecting the seniority of this position.

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering business for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their specialist team in Swadlincote.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong experience across industrial rotating and vibratory machinery who enjoys getting hands-on with complex equipment, diagnosing faults and taking ownership of engineering projects from initial inspection through to repair, servicing and technical recommendations.
You'll work across both the company's workshop and customer sites throughout the UK, acting as a key technical point of contact between customers, Mechanical Fitters and Engineering Technicians.

- Leading and supervising machinery inspections, servicing and repair programmes, both within the workshop and at customer sites.
- Inspecting and diagnosing faults across industrial rotating and vibratory machinery, including screeners, feeders, separators and vibratory conveyors.
- Carrying out root cause analysis and identifying practical, effective engineering solutions.
- Supporting the design and modification of machinery and equipment.
- Managing machinery service and repair programmes, including planned and targeted repair schedules.
- Supervising onsite inspections, commissioning programmes, condition monitoring and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Supporting the diagnosis of basic electrical faults where required.
- Producing detailed technical engineering reports, clearly communicating findings, structural conclusions and engineering recommendations.
- Working closely with hands-on Mechanical Fitters and Engineering Technicians to ensure repair and servicing work is delivered effectively.
- Acting as a professional, knowledgeable representative of the business when dealing directly with customers.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced engineer who brings a strong combination of engineering theory, practical experience and client-facing communication skills.
You Will Ideally Have
- A minimum of 5 years' experience within a relevant industrial engineering environment.
- Strong experience servicing and repairing industrial rotating equipment and vibratory machinery.
- Knowledge of manufacturing and repair techniques including machining, welding, fabrication and fastening.
- Experience with machinery design principles and analysis.
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience managing or supervising engineering inspections, servicing and repair programmes.
- Experience producing professional technical reports and engineering recommendations.
- The confidence to communicate technical information clearly to customers and internal engineering teams.
- Current or recent experience within an engineering service environment involving both workshop and onsite customer work is highly desirable.

Qualifications
Ideally, you will hold:
- A BEng/BSc Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely aligned discipline.
- Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status with a professionally recognised body would be highly advantageous.
- A valid CCNSG Safety Passport, or equivalent industrial site safety certification.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.
Flexibility & Travel
Due to the nature of the role, you must be comfortable travelling to customer sites throughout the UK. There will be occasional overnight stays and, where required to meet customer operational needs, some out-of-hours or weekend work.
