Are you a security cleared Mechanical Engineer with a passion for Defence projects and a drive to solve complex integration challenges? We're working with a prestigious client on an exciting contract opportunity within the Ajax programme, based in Bristol with hybrid working options.
This role offers a unique chance to be part of a high-profile project in the Land Environment, supporting the delivery of cutting-edge military vehicles. Your expertise will be vital in resolving cross-project technical issues, ensuring seamless integration across various project pillars, and contributing directly to programme success.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, analyse, and resolve cross-project engineering issues impacting the Integrate Pillar and wider programme.
- Support Project Lead and Chief Engineers by providing technical advice and recommendations on complex design conflicts.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to detect design inconsistencies early in the project lifecycle, participating in Tiger Team activities to drive swift resolutions.
- Document issues, resolutions, and lessons learned to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Support risk management efforts related to integration and design conflicts.
- Maintain awareness of relevant standards and best practices, delivering engineering solutions aligned with programme requirements.

Ideal Candidate
- HNC or higher engineering qualification.
- Professional registration as an Engineering Technician (EngTech) or equivalent.
- Proven experience providing technical advice and delivering successful engineering outputs in complex environments.
- Experience working within large engineering programmes, preferably with military or asset management backgrounds.
- Familiarity with large stakeholder groups and cross-team collaboration.

Additional Information
- Location: Hybrid / Bristol (3 days on site, up to 1 day supplier site in Merthyr Tydfil, 1 day WfH)
- Start: ASAP
- Contract Length: Until 31 March 2027, with scope to extend
- Security Clearance: SC minimum
- Day Rate: Up to £420 (ex VAT)
- Working Hours: 7.5 hours per day
