Contract Mechanical Engineer with SC Clearance
At Evodia Limited, we're proud to partner with top-tier clients in Defence and Aerospace, and we're currently supporting a prestigious organisation in their search for a Contract Mechanical Engineer with SC clearance. If you're passionate about delivering mission-critical engineering solutions and eager to work on a high-profile programme, this opportunity could be a perfect fit.
Location
- Bristol (hybrid working 3 days onsite, with up to 1 day at supplier site in Merthyr Tydfil, expenses to visit Merthyr Tydfil site are claimable)
Duration
- Until 31st March 2027 (with scope to extend)
Day Rate
- Up to £440 per day (Inside IR35)
Security Clearance
- SC clearance minimum required
Role Overview
As part of the Integrate Pillar within the AJAX programme, you will be instrumental in resolving cross-project technical issues, ensuring seamless integration of systems and components across different teams. Working within a collaborative Tiger Team environment, you'll support project delivery by identifying conflicts early, providing expert advice, and facilitating communication across engineering functions.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify, analyse, and resolve technical issues impacting the programme
- Support Project Lead and Chief Engineers with technical expertise
- Collaborate across teams to detect and address design conflicts
- Participate in focused Tiger Team activities for rapid resolution
- Ensure clear documentation of issues and lessons learned
- Support risk mitigation strategies related to design and integration
- Maintain awareness of current engineering standards and best practices

Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Engineering qualification at level 4 (HNC) or higher
- Registered as an Engineering Technician (EngTech) or similar
- Proven experience offering technical advice and delivering successful engineering outputs within complex projects
Desirable:
- Experience working on military asset management or in-service military equipment
- Experience with large, multi-stakeholder engineering programmes
