Report to: The Senior Engineer or project/business Director.

Collaboration: Collaborate with the Mechanical and Electrical engineers within the Project Team, with technical support from the Senior Engineers or Project/Business Director connected to the project(s).

Responsibilities:

  • Operate on multiple projects and organize themselves to meet all assigned deadlines agreed upon with the project lead.
  • Responsible for full detailed mechanical design and completing these exercises on their own with support from the project lead.
  • Perform calculation works to prove the design for domestic, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems.
  • Coordinate design with electrical design members.
  • Feed into design team meetings, report back on progress and actions, and attend as required.
  • Manage personnel design workloads, providing completed works to the Project lead for QA in a timely manner, ensuring alignment with client target dates.
  • Constantly seek ways of improving the efficiency of their work and of their team.
  • Continually seek to adopt the most up-to-date practices and be innovative in their application.
  • Assist sustainability engineers with modelling input data and criteria, including reviewing completed reports for correctness.
  • Show great involvement in teamwork and promote consultation and collaboration with team fellows.
  • Contribute to the development of junior team members.
  • Show interest in developing knowledge in other engineering disciplines.
  • Ensure all QA procedures and guidelines are followed.
  • Actively participate in the design verification process, including self-checking their own work prior to issuing for QA and checking Graduate engineers' work.
  • Ensure clients are satisfied with the levels of performance and quality of service provided, acting promptly, efficiently, and courteously on clients' concerns and problems.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships, assessing and acting upon the Client's current and future needs.
  • Have a working understanding of current building regulations, CIBSE documentation, British standards, BSRIA documentation, and all other general design guides associated with the building services industry.
  • Be IT literate, with working knowledge of office, AutoCAD, and Hevacomp.
  • Work towards Member of CIBSE accreditation.
