Shift pattern - Days - 4 on, 4 off
Brief
Mechanical Engineer (Water Bias) needed for a large, well-known Facilities Management organisation based in Westminster, London who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded Mechanical Engineer that takes pride in their work with an in-depth knowledge of planned preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems including domestic and closed water systems, plumbing, air conditioning, and pressure systems.
The successful candidate would have a relevant qualification - i.e. NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering etc. - and have a keen interest in Mechanical Engineering. If you have commercial experience in Facilities Management that would be a plus!

What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the Mechanical Engineer will include:
- Perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems including domestic and closed water systems, plumbing, air conditioning, and pressure systems
- Provide first line response to reactive callouts, ensuring all work is completed safely and in compliance with approved codes of practice
- Assist with building fabric and electrical systems maintenance as required
- Collaborate with engineering supervisor and specialist subcontractors to deliver high-quality service
What experience you need to be the successful Mechanical Engineer:

- L8 qualified with City and Guilds or equivalent NVQ in plumbing and mechanical engineering
- Experience in building services and the 18th Edition Test and Inspection
- Practical with good common sense and ability to work well with diverse teams
- Full clean driving licence plus current or ability to gain CTC clearance
- Able to act on own initiative and deliver work to high standards safely
This role requires CTC clearance due to the government environment. Candidates must either hold current CTC clearance or be able to successfully obtain it as part of the recruitment process.
