What You’ll Do
The Mechanical Engineering Intern plays a vital role in contributing to the design, development, and manufacturing of life safety devices or cutting-edge Air to Air Refuelling and Actuation products. The internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with advanced mechanical and systems engineering solutions, while benefiting from industry-leading mentorship and learning resources. You will work alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional project teams, supporting both in-service and developmental products. Your role will involve assisting with design activities, prototyping, manufacturing, problem-solving, and contributing to real engineering challenges, making a meaningful impact from day one.
- Collaborate with cross-functional project teams, including technical specialists, to support and/or lead the development and refinement of mechanical and systems designs.
- Apply mechanical and systems engineering principles throughout the full product life cycle, including requirements capture and management, systems architecture and design, development and integration, and verification, validation, and qualification.
- Develop an understanding of customer needs and how these are translated into actionable engineering tasks and deliverables.
- Demonstrate academic knowledge and theoretical understanding in the context of advanced aerospace technologies or fire safety technologies and engineering applications.
- Stay informed through research; stay up-to-date on emerging technologies, materials, and manufacturing techniques, providing valuable insights to enhance product development.
- Employ CAD software to produce detailed drawings and models.
- Participate in the development and testing of prototypes, evaluating and enhancing product performance and functionality.
- Work closely with the mechanical engineering team to assist and/or lead the creation and improvement of designs.

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
Skills
- Mechanical or systems design and manufacturing exposure is beneficial.
- Proficiency in CAD software, SolidWorks experience is beneficial.
- Microsoft Office.
- Communication and teamwork.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
- Confidence to raise questions and suggest solutions.
