Role Description
The Mechanical Engineering Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Glasgow City. This position oversees mechanical engineering activities for downstream oil projects, including planning, coordinating, and reviewing design work and technical documentation. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The role involves:
- Managing project schedules and budgets
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Communicating regularly with clients and stakeholders to report progress and resolve issues
The Mechanical Engineering Manager will also support business development by:
- Contributing to proposals
- Identifying improvement opportunities
- Promoting best practices in engineering and project delivery
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Mechanical Engineering, with experience in the downstream oil or related heavy industrial sectors.
- Demonstrated Engineering Management capabilities, including resource planning, performance oversight, and process improvement.
- Proven Project Management skills in scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder coordination.
- Effective Team Leadership experience, with the ability to mentor, motivate, and develop engineering staff.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for mechanical systems and equipment layouts.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Strong understanding of industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance practices.
- Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.
- Experience in on-site engineering work and willingness to be present at project locations as required.
- Professional engineering registration or progress toward chartered status is an advantage.
