Job Description

We are seeking a highly capable Mechanical Equipment/Valves to lead the delivery of complex contract packages across a major nuclear programme. This role is ideal for project professionals who thrive in technically challenging environments and want to take ownership of high-value, safety-critical engineering packages.

You will be responsible for ensuring that mechanical equipment and valve packages are delivered safely, on time, to budget, and in full compliance with nuclear quality and technical requirements. Working at the centre of a multidisciplinary environment, you will collaborate with engineering, commercial, quality, manufacturing, and site teams to ensure seamless delivery across the full lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive contract and package delivery to meet safety, schedule, cost, and technical performance requirements.
  • Monitor programme progress, tracking milestones, risks, deadlines, and budget performance, and reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Manage and resolve issues across the contract, escalating risks and ensuring timely resolution of NCRs, technical queries, and manufacturing challenges.
  • Lead contract administration including variations, claims, instructions, and commercial governance (with Commercial Manager support).
  • Oversee Tier 1 supply chain performance, ensuring nuclear safety and quality across up to 100+ international Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers.
  • Ensure Level 3 schedules are developed, maintained, and aligned with overall project schedules.
  • Support qualification activities to demonstrate nuclear safety performance of mechanical equipment and valves.
  • Coordinate with site teams to ensure all pre-shipment and delivery requirements are met.
  • Secure and manage project resources, ensuring SQEP compliance and identifying capability gaps.
  • Develop and implement delivery strategies aligned with the Programme Execution Plan (PEP).
  • Maintain strong stakeholder communication, ensuring alignment across engineering, commercial, and site teams.
  • Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) and other commercial reporting tools.
  • Embed continuous improvement, capturing lessons learned and best practice.
  • Interface with other programmes to maintain a holistic view of project progress and cross-programme dependencies.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
