Up to £75,000 basic salary | Company car or car allowance | Bonus | Growing M&E division | Varied projects | Long-term progression
A well-established, privately owned building services contractor is looking for a Mechanical Estimator to join its growing M&E division in Buckinghamshire. The business delivers mechanical, electrical, facilities management and full project services across commercial and industrial environments, with a strong pipeline of work and clear plans to expand the team.
You will join a close-knit M&E team and work alongside the Mechanical Project Manager, giving you direct involvement in live projects, tender strategy and pre-construction planning. Projects typically range from £50,000 to £2 million and include commercial units, warehouses, light industrial sites and general contracting schemes. Around seven to eight tenders are live at any one time, so the role offers plenty of variety and a clear route to progress as the division grows.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
