Mechanical Estimator

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join a growing M&E business in London with the option for hybrid working.

This role will suit someone with a strong mechanical estimating background who can manage tenders from initial review through to submission and contract award.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate mechanical estimates for M&E projects.
  • Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Produce material, labour, plant, and subcontractor take-offs.
  • Obtain and assess competitive supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Prepare tender submissions, clarifications, risk analysis, and adjudication packs.
  • Work closely with procurement and the wider estimating team.
  • Develop value engineering and cost-saving solutions.
  • Support Design & Build tenders with preliminary sizing, take-offs, and design input.
  • Follow up submitted bids and support the process through to contract award.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in a Mechanical Estimator or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical building services and construction.
  • Excellent analytical and commercial skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Contract Master experience desirable.
  • Right to work in the UK
