Mechanical Estimator
Milton Keynes | £65,000 - £70,000 + Package
Are you a Mechanical Estimator looking for a role where your expertise genuinely shapes the projects being delivered?
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join a growing multidisciplinary contractor with a strong reputation across M&E, commercial construction, FM and small works. Based in Milton Keynes, this is an opportunity to play a key role in strengthening and developing the company's pre-construction capability.
You'll be involved from the early stages of a project, taking ownership of mechanical tenders and working closely with operational teams to turn opportunities into commercially successful projects.
The Role
You'll be responsible for producing competitive and technically robust mechanical estimates across a range of commercial projects, covering areas including HVAC, heating, plumbing and associated building services.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
