Job Description

🚀 The Job Mission

You will provide mechanical construction surveillance across a designated section of the project. The role focuses on quality compliance, contractor oversight, and nuclear safety culture.

  • 🔧 Monitor mechanical works against contractor requirements and approved documentation
  • 🔍 Identify deviations and support formal non-conformance reporting processes
  • 📋 Conduct continuous, notified, and planned surveillance of construction activities
  • 🤝 Maintain effective communication with contractors and wider project stakeholders
  • 📈 Provide surveillance information supporting project quality performance indicators
  • 🛡️ Identify emerging quality issues and support proportionate mitigation measures
  • ⚙️ Verify quality records are completed before works become inaccessible
  • 📐 Review construction drawings, technical requirements, and quality control plans
  • 🏗️ Monitor contractor performance against authorized quality control requirements
  • 📱 Capture accurate surveillance information using electronic site reporting systems

Qualifications

  • 🎓 Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent vocational experience
  • 🔧 Experience with pipework installation, pumps, tanks, and rotating equipment
  • 🏗️ Broad understanding of construction materials, trades, and installation methods
  • 🛡️ Knowledge of Quality Assurance requirements including ISO9001 principles
  • 📋 Experience producing accurate, concise contract-relevant site diaries
  • 🔍 Strong attention to detail when inspecting equipment and materials
  • 🤝 Ability to build effective contractor relationships while remaining independent
  • 📢 Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills
  • ⚙️ Experience with large mechanical equipment installation advantageous
  • 📚 Understanding of CDM Regulations and drawing approval processes desirable
