Job Description
🚀 The Job Mission
You will provide mechanical construction surveillance across a designated section of the project. The role focuses on quality compliance, contractor oversight, and nuclear safety culture.
- 🔧 Monitor mechanical works against contractor requirements and approved documentation
- 🔍 Identify deviations and support formal non-conformance reporting processes
- 📋 Conduct continuous, notified, and planned surveillance of construction activities
- 🤝 Maintain effective communication with contractors and wider project stakeholders
- 📈 Provide surveillance information supporting project quality performance indicators
- 🛡️ Identify emerging quality issues and support proportionate mitigation measures
- ⚙️ Verify quality records are completed before works become inaccessible
- 📐 Review construction drawings, technical requirements, and quality control plans
- 🏗️ Monitor contractor performance against authorized quality control requirements
- 📱 Capture accurate surveillance information using electronic site reporting systems

Qualifications
- 🎓 Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent vocational experience
- 🔧 Experience with pipework installation, pumps, tanks, and rotating equipment
- 🏗️ Broad understanding of construction materials, trades, and installation methods
- 🛡️ Knowledge of Quality Assurance requirements including ISO9001 principles
- 📋 Experience producing accurate, concise contract-relevant site diaries
- 🔍 Strong attention to detail when inspecting equipment and materials
- 🤝 Ability to build effective contractor relationships while remaining independent
- 📢 Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills
- ⚙️ Experience with large mechanical equipment installation advantageous
- 📚 Understanding of CDM Regulations and drawing approval processes desirable
