The Role

Deritend, part of the Rubix Group, was founded in 1898 and serves more than 3,500 customers in the UK and boasts a blue-chip client base that includes some of the largest manufacturers and best known brands in the world. We specialise in optimising asset performance, including motors, gear boxes, pumps, machining induction, condition monitoring and fabrication services.
Key Responsibilities
Main Tasks and Deliverables:
- Strip and Rebuild of a range of industrial rotating equipment.
- Have mechanical knowledge to identify and rectify faulty and worn/damaged components and understand reclamation techniques and reverse engineering options.
- The ability to create strip down reports and to identify components in need of repair and replacement.
- Flexibility when required in addition to the workshop environment on occasions site working may be required to assist our field based site engineers.
- You will be a confident team member as well as working on your own initiative.
- Ensure that resources are used to optimum effect.
- Understand and operate in line with relevant legislation, Company policy and Company procedures.
- Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation and records as required by the business.
- Performing planned and predictive maintenance.
- Thrive on workload variety and enjoy new challenges and learning of engineering techniques.
- Maintain the required standards of housekeeping.
- Support other teams and functions as required by the business.
- Undertake self-development activities as required by the business.
- Undertake any other reasonable tasks or duties as required by your line manager.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and practices operated by the Company.
- Conforming to health and safety procedures and policies.

- Understanding of Pumps, Valves and similar equipment.
- Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Techniques, (MRO).
- Training will be given to the right applicant who shows a good knowledge and would like to expand their skill set.
- 3 plus years’ experience in a similar environment is desirable.
- Participate in call out rota as required after a period of adjustment.
- Health & Safety awareness in practice as this will be at the forefront of everything you do.
- Recognised apprenticeship or evidence of training or experience is required.
