Mechanical Fitter

Are you a hands on, detail driven Mechanical Fitter looking for your next opportunity? We're looking for someone just like you to join a small, fast paced engineering team. In this role, you'll work on the mechanical assembly of machinery, small bore pipework, and basic pneumatic systems, supporting a growing business where priorities can change daily and no two days feel the same. This is a temporary role which may become permanent.
Mechanical Fitter Role
- Mechanical fitting & assembly of light engineering machinery
- Interpreting mechanical drawings and working accurately from schematics
- Pneumatics work including cylinders, slides, solenoid valves, pressure regulators
- Small bore pipe fitting up to ½", using compression fittings
- Supporting general workshop tasks as priorities shift daily

Mechanical Fitter Skills and Experience
- A positive, practical team player with a strong work ethic
- Excellent attention to detail who takes pride in their work
- Adaptable and willing to turn their hand to whatever's needed in a growing, fast moving company
- Several years' hands on mechanical fitting/assembly experience
- Lathe and milling machine use (desirable)
- Previous machine building experience (desirable)
- Electrical knowledge (desirable)
Mechanical Fitter Qualifications
- Apprentice trained or degree qualified Mechanical Engineer
Mechanical Fitter Hourly Pay
£16.30/hr to £18.50/hr depending on experience
Hours of Work
40 per week, flexible between 07:00 and 19:00
Temporary role which may lead to permanent contract
