Don Valley Engineering is looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter

👤 Reporting to: Workshop Manager

🔨 What You’ll Be Doing

  • Construct and assemble mechanical equipment using components bought in and made in-house.
  • Carry out maintenance activities (repairing, fault-finding, commissioning) on mechanical equipment both in the Doncaster Workshop and on UK & International customer sites.
  • Understand and work to mechanical system blueprints.
  • Report daily activities.
  • Inspect and measure completed works.
  • Organise equipment and plant for your tasks.

🧩 What We’re Looking For

  • Time‑served apprenticeship or equivalent experience
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Background in heavy engineering (essential) and bulk material handling (desirable)
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Strong communication and time‑management skills
  • A positive, proactive attitude and pride in your work
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • Ability to work effectively in a small, fast‑paced, cross‑functional team
  • Willingness to visit customer sites globally, as/when required (essential)
