The Role: Mechanical Maintenance Professional
An experienced Mechanical Maintenance professional responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of plant equipment and systems through both reactive and proactive maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Carry out reactive and proactive maintenance activities across local facilities, with a strong emphasis on compliance and safety.
- Maintain mechanical, process machinery, including:
- Lifting equipment
- High-pressure steam systems
- Boilers
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- Perform mechanical breakdown repairs on all plant and process equipment to ensure minimal downtime and operational continuity.
- Oversee boiler operations and high-pressure steam systems, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulations.
- Support and mentor apprentices, promoting safety, compliance, and best practices in mechanical maintenance.
- Proactively report safety or operational concerns to line management to maintain a safe working environment at all times.

Keys to Success
This is an entry-level position requiring:
- Appropriate licenses/training certifications
- Basic skills in an analytical or technical process
Supervisory Capabilities
- Apply basic analytical and technical skills for routine activities.
- Understand task integration within the team and across broader workflows.
- Use standard operating procedures to guide work and resolve routine problems.
- Achieve work quality standards and address issues independently.
- Communicate clearly and courteously across all levels of the engineering team.
Requirements and Preferred Skills
Essential:
- City & Guilds or HNC-qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
- Time-served mechanical fitter with post-qualification experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
